New "Old" Power At The BSRM!

Former Alpha Portland Industries Alco RS3, now BRMX No. 5, is seen laying over at the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum at Lenox, Mass., on Thursday, June 30, 2011. The unit was dropped off by CSX train Q424 at Pittsfield, MA on Wednesday and transported to Lenox by the HRRC Wednesday evening. The 1950-built Alco formerly served as a switcher at a big cement plant at Alsen, NY (near Catskill) for a number of years. The unit is reportedly in good running condition.
