Photo of Union Pacific On Pownal Curve
Union Pacific On Pownal Curve

A pair of Union Pacific engines lead Pan Am Southern train 206 eastbound along the big curve along the Hoosac River in the town of North Pownal, VT on a freezing January 8, 2014. Looks like the lead engine 6048 has been plowing through some snow somewhere along the route. I was expecting at least a half-dozen cars with railfans racing along the highway and pulling over to get a photo at this scenic location. However I was the only soul in sight.
