Auto unloading terminal in Yard 5 which used to be part on New Haven passenger car shops. Lead track to right made a complete loop around this facility and was used to "turn" auto racks. Unloading was only done facing west. So setting up facility not only meant matching tri levels and bi levels but direction also.

Looks a tri-level full of Ford Mavericks or Mercury Comets closest to the camera. Were these autos routed from EL interchange at Maybrook to Readville via Waterbury/Hartford/Plainfield? Thought I've seen a photo of a short New Haven era auto rack train at Putnam or Blackstone but perhaps routing changed after NH got folded into NH? Readville auto business looks pretty substantial (and profitable?).
