Visitor Comments about this Photo:Long building on left is B&M freight house. Extreme left is loading dock for Merrimack Farmer's Exchange (now Blue Seal) 1952 employee's timetable shows speed limit for passenger trains south of Plymouth (with ABS) 55mph, north of Plymouth (no ABS) 45mph. Freights were 10 mph slower. Lincoln Branch was 25mph for both. There is still a well-maintained APS semaphore north of town at the Lincoln branch junction. In 1952 there were 3 passenger trains each way each day with a 4th terminating in the summer. Behind the photographer to the right was a 2 stall roundhouse and turntable. An old double tracked snowplow was parked on a siding to the left between the station and the road crossing Posted by Steven Hall on 2017-10-09 11:16:15 You must be logged on to post comments. |
