P&L 105 with Cafe Lafayette Dinner TrainThis was the Sunday Cafe Lafayette Dinner train as it took a nice, slow, gentle ride south to Thornton. Riders experienced the best in fine dining with a five course meal. Cafe Lafayette Dinner Trains run mainly Thursday to Sunday, and travel further south than the Hobo Railroad's regular excursion trains which reverse direction at the Jack-O-Lantern resort.
Here, the Dinner Train passed under I-93, Exit 30. Power is the Plymouth & Lincoln #105, an SW1000 that was purchased from the New Orleans Public Belt Railway during the summer of 2020. 105 arrived on the P&L's home rails in early September 2020, and was repainted in the winter of 2021. Prior to the repaint, 105 wore the NOPB's colors of bright red paint above deck, and blue (almost Pan Am blue) below. The NOPB purchased 105 new in 1971. The SW1000 replaced the P&L's ALCO S1 #958 as the main road power in Lincoln.
