This is as far as the special got on the New Hampshire and Vermont trackage. The milepost indicates that they are 5 miles from Groveton. The Amtrak RFE (gentleman on the left) decided he wasn't taking his locomotives any further. The decision was made to reverse direction back to Groveton at 3 mph, and then continue to Portland, ME, on the SLR.
