PC Switcher Crossing B&M Diamond at West Concord, MA

1973 - The switcher is headed to Lowell, MA on the former New Haven RR Framingham to Lowell Branch. The diamond crossing is adjacent to the Boston and Maine West Concord Depot on the Fitchburg Route Main Line. The Fitchburg Line is now owned by the MBTA, commuter trains still stop in West Concord a little west of the depot. The depot building has been the victim of a not very tasteful remodeling job. The diamond and the Framingham Lowell line are both gone.

Photographed by Bill McCaffrey, 1973.
Added to the photo archive by Bill Mccaffrey, December 2, 2005.
Railroad: Penn Central.
