Photo of Former Sweetheart Plastics South crossing
Former Sweetheart Plastics South crossing

In the early 80's Sweetheart Plastics, that already had a crossing at their main plant just North of here, filed for a new crossing called Sweetheart South it is now the only entrance to XpedX Comapny. and is located at the junction of RT 62 and Rt 38 in Wilmington, MA.

As it was a private crossing the Railroad constructed it with Sweetheart paying the cost which approached $200,000 Resisted at first but due to the tremendous volume of freight cars, the project got a quick approval.
