Photo of Castle Hill Yard
Castle Hill Yard

Castle Hill Yard in Salem, Ma was once a very busy yard that saw cars for Salem, Peabody, Danvers, Beverly and other points. At this time the yard tower has been vandalized a number of times and is boarded up and a lonely GP-40 sits by her on a rainy day. GRS #327 is ex CR #3239 ex Penn Central.
Eventually vandals or homeless people did burn the tower beyond repair and it was replaced with a trailer which was then torched.
This was one of my stomping grounds in Salem growing up.
