Hoosac Valley Coal & Grain Co. (Adams, MA)
The Hoosac Valley Coal & Grain Company, as seen from the abandoned ROW of the old Pittsfield & North Adams RR at Adams, Mass. The view is looking south. The company was still a rail customer as late as 1985, when the B&M
used to drop off a couple of coal cars now and then. There used to be a large
coal shed just past the mill in foreground, with the big lettering "Hoosac Valley Coal & Grain Co. That building was destroyed by fire around 1985. The track
on this segment of the P&NA (Adams branch) was removed sometime between
1995-1998. Photo by John Bazan.
