B&M RDC 6148 on the Hobo RailroadHobo Railroad's 3:00 PM train awaits the conductor's permission to return to Lincoln, NH from its present position at the 18th hole of the Jack O' Lantern Resort Golf Course. The car on the head pin of the locomotive, RDC 6148 was the prototype car for the "Boise Rebuilds". This car was done over at N. Billerica Shops in the early 80's. Although it appears the same as all the other former RDC's that are out there it features HEP 480V power conections, no engines below deck and sans radiators on the roof. Heat light and cooling are all provided by 480 volt HEP. It served the MBTA as a control cab car into the 90's before it was sold to the Hobo Railroad.
A search on Nerail provides many an image of it running the MBTA Commuter Rail System as a cab control car.
