Around 1980, the 'Type 4 EBT" cars from Hawker-Siddeley were getting ready to take over the MBTA Blue Line hauling chores. These cars were radically different from the EBT Type #1/2 & 3 cars they replaced. These modern new cars had AC, a PA, system, good seating, and very bright inside. These are curently being retired for the new Type 5 EBT cars from Siemens..
