Neat photo! GAF's roofing shingle plant generated a lot of traffic in and out for the Bay Colony RR (which took over the line from PC in 1982) up until the plant's closure in 2009. Bay Colony RR still runs on this line once every so often handling in-bound fly ash and cement loads for Tresca Bros in Millis.

Mint! Note to John Barlow, Conrail operated this line from 1976 up through 1987, when BCLR began to operate it. This was a full 5 years after BCLR took over operation of the Newton line, leaving from the other side of Medfield Jct.
