Maine Coast 2002 Crossing US 1 in Wiscasset

MC 2002 (M420W) heads west across US 1 in downtown Wiscasset, ME. The hill beyond the 2002 provided the best view of the 2 abandoned Wiscasset schooners until they finally deteriorated and their masts fell a few years after this photo was taken. Today neither the Maine Coast nor the schooners remain, but the rails are remain as part of the Canadian Pacific empire.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

Apparently CP may be shopping this line which is isolated from their system. It has been reported that hi-rail trucks from the Finger Lakes RR have been seen on the premises. But there may be other bidders, too.
