On the Danbury Branch, South Norwalk, CTLooking north on the Danbury Branch at the new layover yard built to support the pending traffic disruption on the Branch and the Main when work begins on the replacement of the Norwalk ("Walk") Bridge on the Main. "Walk" is way past its sell-by date having been built in late 19th century. It still carries a four track main and on the west end is the connection with the Danbury Branch as well as SS44, now a museum. The green area to the right in the photo is the site of the New Haven's "Dock" yard. The branch remains diesel powered; the wire ends just beyond the I-95 bridge.
