This plaque is on the outer wall of the Eastern Portal of the Hoosac Tunnel. It was put there in 1984 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the world's first railfan excursion *** A fellow NERAILer has informed me that he witnessed the plaque being put up a few days before the actual August 26th fan trip in 1934 ***
