This is a fairly historic photo as apparently the last RPO run out of Boston would be 13 days later on #177 The Federal on April 30, 1971, the day before Amtrak started operating eliminating this mail service. Conrail ran the last RPO trains (for Amtrak) #3 & #4 between NYP and DC on 6/30/77 using a couple of BM70s. A few ex-PRR BM70 (?) RPO cars survive in various railway museums - would you happen to recall this car's #?
