New Haven arrival

A westbound NH train from either Boston or Springfield headed up by FL9 2004 pulls into the New Haven station on its way to Grand Central Terminal late on a summer afternoon. The nose heralds on these locomotives tended to erode away even when the rest of the paint was fairly fresh.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August, 1967.

Railroad: New Haven.
