The Final Fall Foliage Special of 2018

Here was the Winnipesaukee Scenic's final Fall Foliage Special crossing over the narrow Winona Road Bridge on the east side of New Hampton (NH) as they were not too far from their final stop at Meredith Station.

The Fall Foliage Special offered passengers some very pristine views of lakes, rivers, and foliage and ran only 9 times over 4 prime weekends and Columbus Day on the trackage between Meredith and Plymouth. Outside of that, these tracks see very few trains with unscheduled equipment moves between Lincoln and Meredith. Passing below the tracks, it's only wide enough for one vehicle and could be easy enough for a truck to get "Storrowed" if not paying attention to the signs..

Wished we could do this every weekend in season as the three lakes and several restored stations and of course the Ashland Trestle is a "must see". Add in a Deer Farm plus a 3 span bridge with wooden FF wqa LAT CAR foBridgewater just before the wood chip power plant..

If you look on the back cover of the December issue of RailPace Magazine someone snapped a gem of the Foliage Special heading north over the triple span Pemmi bridge..
