Photo of The Original Norfolk Southern
The Original Norfolk Southern

Attractively painted NS Heritage ES44AC representing the Norfolk Southern Railway (acquired by the Southern in 1974) assists 28N autorack train east on Pan Am Southern at Wachusett T station at West Fitchburg in September of 2018. 28N has since been abolished with its modest number of loaded racks now being forwarded from Buffalo by the 22K single stack train (which is also becoming a shadow of its former self). Seems ironic that the name "Southern" is used so much in this description of a New England RR operation.
