Nice picture, Bob. Thanks.
The line to Plymouth now just continues up the Lincoln Branch to Hobo's facility.
In an earlier day the main line to Montreal continued on from Plymouth up over the heights at Glencliff and down into Woodsville (village in the Town of Haverhill), thence across the Connecticut River to Wells River, Vermont, and from there to Montreal on Canadian Pacific rails.
It's been a few years since I've been by, but there used to be a US&S Style B semaphore signal still standing just north of Plymouth, where the tracks ran adjacent to U.S. Route 3, and another Style B signal in very nice shape in Tilton. Watching those semaphore blades swing up to horizontal and bounce when a train went past was something I will probably not see again.
And if you want to watch a US&S Style H searchlight signal blink twice at you as it turns from green to red, best be about it. They're almost gone now, too.
Thank to Jeff and all of you who keep these memories alive.
