For me a location and direction of train is a necessary part of photo caption. Anybody else have an opinion?

Exactly Bruce, location & direction are all important, especially to the novice. As an example "WOGR" & "GRWO" gives one the origin & destination. Lets put some effort into making the hobby enjoyable.

A reasonable request. Upper case letters, where appropriate, would be good as well.
