The Roger Williams Trainset in Concord

On July 30th, a move of five privately owned and fully operational assorted Budd RDCs started south from Lincoln, where they were stored and well taken care of for many years, even though they were never used on the Hobo or Winni Scenic Railroads. Through New Hampshire, the move went:
Sunday 7/30 - Lincoln to Meredith (P&L)
Monday 7/31 - Meredith to Lochmere to Canterbury, with a live hand off from the P&L to NEGS @ Lochmere
Thursday 8/3 - Canterbury to Concord (NEGS)
Thursday 8/3 - Concord to Bow to Nashua (CSX)

The five Budds wound up in Ayer, before being hooked onto a recent M427. The 3 Roger Williams cars are at the Berkshire Scenic in Lenox MA, while NH 41 and B&O 1960 are destined for the Berkshire Scenic in Adams MA.

This was the New England Southern part of the move, with the Roger Williams set crossing over the famous trestle by Brochu's Nursery in Concord. The last time these 5 Budds were together in Concord were June 2009, before going north to Lincoln.

The lineup included:
GMTX 1505 (SW1500) NEGS Power
B&O 1960 (RDC-2) Built 10/1956
NH 41 (RDC1) Built March 1953
NH 141(RDC-A) Built Feb 1957 Roger Williams
NH 140 (RDC-A) Built Feb 1957 Roger WIlliams
NH 162 (RDC-B) Built Feb 1957 Roger Williams

Sounds like these Budds are going to a good home.

Very nice! I was only able to catch these once as they departed South Station, Boston, back in the '80's, I think.
