P&L Extra 1012 & 1590 South of the Weirs Beach Boardwalk

Early Monday morning on July 31, the P&L ran an unscheduled extra from Meredith to Lochmere for a live hand off of these five privately owned assorted Budd RDC's with the New England Southern RR Crew. The lineup included:
P&L 1012n (SW1000)
P&L 1590n (SW1001)
B&O 1960 (RDC-2)
NH 41 (RDC-1)
NH 141 (RDC-A Roger Williams)
NH 140 (RDC-A Roger Williams)
NH 162 (RDC-B Roger Williams)

The Roger Williams set went to the Berkshire Scenic in Lenox MA, while 1960 and 41 are going to the Berkshire Scenic's Adams MA operation. The five RDCs are operable, All but NH 41 were stored at the Hobo RR since 2009. The NH 41 went to Naugatuck CT for a while, before a return trip to Lincoln in the Fall of 2019.

It's a rarity to see two end cab switchers in tandem on the Winni Scenic's operation, though they were not MUed at the time. On the return trip from Lochmere, 1012 was dropped in Lakeport for it's annual inspection, while the crews took 1590 north back to Lincoln.

This was one of the few spots to get a good look at the two locos and the five Budd RDC's.

Yesterday, 8/22, it was officially announced that Patriot Rail has acquired the P&L from the Clark Family.
