Visitor Comments about this Photo:Amazing the personnel and infrastructure needed to support steam. The economics of diesel replacing steam must have overwhelming. Maybrook and Cedar Hill are almost mythical New Haven locations for most of us who did not venture beyond the Boston/Providence area and the Shore Line. The C-425s and U25Bs were exciting additions in the late New Haven era Posted by Ron DeFilippo on 2023-11-10 07:24:23 Ron, in a similar vein, I wonder what would have become of Maybrook and the L&HR/EL traffic interchanged with the New Haven if the Hudson River bridge at Poughkeepsie had not been taken out of service due to the 1974 fire. Would this still be a freight route to/from southern New England? Posted by John Barlow on 2023-11-10 07:53:40 You must be logged on to post comments. |
