MBRX 901 @ Hall Ave in MerrimackIt's not about what it is, it's where it is! Here was the Milford Bennington Crew at MP-NAU 6.41, two towns away and just over seven miles south from where the MBRX usually operates. They were pushing their SW900 north with 5 empty CSX ballast cars, after dropping stone just north of Old Law Warehouse in Nashua.
It's great to see this arrangement between CSX, MBRX, and Granite State Concrete at work. Since the summer of 2023, the overall condition of the CSX owned portion of the Hillsboro Branch track has improved dramatically, and work is still being done now.
Hard to think that the prior owners of these rails made many efforts to eradicate the Milford Bennington from them, as part of their gravel conveyor belt train operates in CSX territory from Howard Street in Wilton to the Granite State Concrete plant in Milford.
Notice how well the Hall Avenue crossing looks? Just about all the grade crossings on the CSX side of the Hillsboro Branch have been rebuilt.
This looks like a win-win-win for all !
