GMTX 1505 @ West Portsmouth Street in ConcordFrom December 12th, here was the New England Southern Crew taking one empty tank car south to Concord for the CSX Nashua local to pick up, where they will continue the tank car's journey back to Georgia for a refill.
The West Portsmouth Street Crossing is easily accessed from I-93 @ Exit 16 on the north side of the Merrimack River bridge,.
GMTX 1505 is the former NEGS 2555. Almost four years have flown by, since the 1505 was returned to "these New Hampshire Rails" after spending several months in the Vermont Railway System's shops in Burlington VT.
The shiny yellow end cab switcher departed in August 2020 as NEGS 2555 facing north, and returned in January 2021 as GMTX 1505 facing south. The SW1500 was originally built for Southern Pacific in 1970.
Admittedly, not the best catch of NEGS, though any catch of NEGS on the move, is a great catch !
