Battenkill #4

Remarkable sighting on the last day of 2024! Who-d-have-thunk-it-possible to see an active RS1 from the early 1950’s in revenue service over 70+ years later!?… “Buttercup” SC&H #3501 resting on siding just opposite the former Shushan, NY Postmaster’s home; with an equally bright yellow door... and that’s no “fish story”;-)… Hats off to the Battenkill Railroad for their ALCO dedication, determination and perseverance!

Love those RS-1s. A perfect portrait, too! Not many steamers could claim all these years of continuous service,
