Hoosac Tunnel dam/canal

site of the dam and canal that was used to supply water to the compressor house at the east portal of the Hoosac tunnel during construction. The water flowed from this dam through a canal to the compressor house which powered steam drills and air drills for the construction of the Hoosac tunnel. You can also see the old HT&W railbed above the river on the opposite side
