Wolfeboro, NH

A Baldwin 2-6-2 steam engine, that never returned, was the last engine operating on the Wolfeboro line. It was built in 1926 in Pennsylvania and was used on the Bonhomie & Hattiesburg Southern in Mississippi and later the Wannamaker, Kempton & Southern in Pennsylvania. In 1972 it was purchased by the Wolfeboro Railroad, and made its first trip to Wolfeboro on August 1, 1972, nearly one hundred years after the first locomotive brought a train to Wolfeboro on August 19, 1872. It is now on display at Edaville in South Carver, MA.

Wolfeboro 250's tender left its display perch at Edaville yesterday, March 27, 2025. The grounds of Edaville have recently been sold. A reporter on Facebook indicated he saw the tender exiting the Mass Pike in the Grafton area. The next chapter in the saga of #250 is beginning.

Ed, on the side, if you are near Middleboro, Ma. check out the CSX yard, a report I got was that there are two E units marked LTEX.

Answer to my own inquiry, spotted at Middleboro Ma. SLRG E9AMs 2400 (Ex-NYSW 2400, Ex-BN 9921, Ex-CBQ 9991, E9A) and 2402 (Ex-NYSW 2402, Ex-BN 9915, Ee-CBQ 9985A, E9A) departed their long-time home at the Mass Coastal/Cape Cod Central Railroad in Hyannis, Massachusetts, reportedly destined for Larry's Truck (LTEX) in Ohio.
