Yesterday afternoon the Vermonter derailed after catching the switch point at the interlocking crossover where NECR and the Conn. River line merge. The engine and one coach went on the ground. A little over 100 passengers had to be bused to Springfield, no one was injured in the low speed derailment. PW Veteran unit was brought down from Brattleboro to assist. R.J. Corman was brought in to perform the rerail.
