NA-1 MEC 321 by Gas Street in Concord

From 1/28/2021.. Only the Concord Gasholder Building survives in this picture, and will thrive while undergoing a restoration. The Concord Yard Tower to the right is gone, MEC 321 was scrapped, and seeing a long string of Ciment Quebec cars in Concord has been a thing of the past for a few years now.

MEC 321 saw a lot of use on "These New Hampshire Rails" between 2019 and 2021, it last ran here in August 2021. After a several (3 or 4) runarounds, the NA-1 Crew was heading south to River Road, passing the historic Concord Gasholder Building, reported to be the only one left, in the US, that is mostly intact with the tank inside, even though it was taken out of service in the early 1950's.

CSX installed a north switch on the Perini Siding in Bow, where the extra CQ cars are stored, so Crews can easily shove them into the siding on the north trip, saving time and the chores of multiple runarounds in Concord.

The only standard cabs Geeps that run to Concord these days are the CSX GP40-2 fleet, introduced in March 2025. Seeing the Pan Am and Guilford painted standard cab Geeps in Concord are very much in the past tense.

CSX wasted little time since acquiring Pan Am in retiring the straight GP40's from service.
