B&M 4266 @ Crawford'sThis scene could have taken place in the late 1950's! Here was the 470 Club's, special 11/1/2025 excursion passing the historic 1891 built Crawford Station in Carroll, NH on the former Maine Central Mountain Division tracks.
The station is used by the Appalachian Mountain Club as a visitor's center and general type store, though closed down for the season.
This year's power lineup was all B&M with F7A's 4266e, 4268w, and the GP9, 1741w. While 4266 has always been in-service over the years, one has to marvel at the incredible efforts of the 470 Club Group's work they did in returning both the 4268 and 1741 to operating condition in recent years.
The train would stop by for a few run-by photo opportunities, though the time to snap this one was ahead of the crowds.
We're 85 miles to Portland and 46 miles to St. Johnsbury.
