Photo of CHICK Interlocking
CHICK Interlocking

I am still sorting over some of my old photos, I believe this one is ca. 1969 and I am going retro with black and white film (appropriate for PC power). The New Haven is gone and its reluctant foster parent Penn Central has just taken over. Letterboards of the cars from the old NH, NYC and PRR have been overlaid with Penn Central letterboards. "New" ex-PRR and NYC E-8s have bumped the FL-9s to commuter service in and out of GCT. This may be the Merchants rattling the ancient lever and rod interlocking plant now designated CHICK by the PC. It was the junction for the Needham branch.

Photographed by Ron DeFilippo, 1969.

Excellent photo contrasting the old tower with the Prudential, the washboard and the John Hancock!
