Photo of Departing over the Charles
Departing over the Charles

A standard paint F40-led MBTA train leaves North Station heading for points north. Its crossing the 2 bascule bridges that span the Charles and will pass venerable "Tower A". A parade of boats awaits the bridge's raising.

This whole area will change starting in 2027 as a project gets underway to replace the bridges. The 2 2-track bridges will be replaced with 2 3-track spans for greater operational flexibility. Sadly, Tower A will fall by the wayside as well.
