The lights of ConnDOT's M-8s on Shore Line East fade away as I head for my truck at Old Saybrook, CT station. M-8s are also fading away literally on SLE service, as diesels are expected to return for most trains. I'll miss the quick acceleration of the M-8s, but look forward to getting new cars in this service in the next couple of years.
