'Sam Pinsly' Special at Westfield, MA

The 'Sam Pinsly' passenger excursion train is seen heading south across the bridge over the Westfield River at Westfield, Mass., on May 3, 1986. This stub of the Pioneer Valley RR was abandoned in the 1990s when the diamond across the B&A main was removed. At the time I believe there was only one customer remaining on the stub - a warehouse. I think the track is still intact on the bridge, but the track south of the bridge was removed several years ago. Color slide by John Bazan.
