A great memorial for the last days of the of the OC-NH-PC presence at West Concord. An increasing number of the present bike riders who have no previous knowledge of the rail heritage of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail should see this. Speaks to the importance of a significant amount of freight interchange between the B&M and former NH that lasted until the implementation of the Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1973 and the formation of Conrail. Nice to see 3 former NH RS-11s on the point. Also note the two spare diamonds shown in the picture, one of which is preserved in the little memorial park on the south side of the track just east of the depot.
