Providence-Foxboro Football Extra with PC 4268 X-PRR E-8, 7538, 7535 X-NH GP-9's crossing over onto the Lowell Branch. During the game this and the Boston Extra went up to Walpole to wye their trains for return trips. The NH GP-9s were often MU'd with the E-8's. They had same or close to same gear ratios.

Another great scene of this transitional era. The ex-PRR E-8 and the two ex-NH GP-9s along with the ex-NH Osgood-Bradley "American Flyer" coaches twisting and turning through the Mansfield interlocking , the switch tower roof visible in the background.
