Photo of NEW HAVEN, CT
NEW HAVEN, CT

Eastbound Receiving Yard looking toward the Hump at Cedar Hill Yard. Some of the towers that held up catenary still remain. The New Haven didn't have a "hump" per say between receiving yard and class yard, but a gradual grade constructed on entire length of receiving yard tracks creating a down grade on tracks leading to "bowl" in class yard.. Don't know the reason for that..

Photographed by Bruce Nelson, March, 1970.
Added to the photo archive by Bruce Nelson, October 2, 2023.
Railroad: Penn Central.
