Amtrak's Washington-bound Bay State Passes Mass Central at Palmer

AMTK 325 (F40PH) leads the short Boston to Washington Bay State into Palmer, MA, passing MCER 957 (GP20 (GP9u?)) putting together its train in the interchange yard. Given that only 3 cars were required to handle the Bay State's passenger load, it is not terribly surprising that the route was dropped about 1 1/2 years after I took this photo during the spring of 1994 (April is my best guess as to the date)
