Pan Am Southern AYMO at CPF-Derby LeominsterBack in 2012, PAS had yet to adopt NS train symbols so this westbound largely IM train was called AYMO (Ayer-Mohawk) rather than the 23K symbol in use today. Interestingly this day's AYMO is led by a newly rebuilt NS SD60E, which back in 2012 was an interesting and rarely seen locomotive in these parts. Nowadays, following the adoption of PTC a year or so ago and the fact that the IM trains to/from Ayer require two types of PTC (ACSES-II for the MBTA track and I-ETMS for NS and CP) only NS SD60Es configured to handle both transponder and GPS-based PTC can lead lending a certain sameness to every photo of 22K/23K running on PAS.
