MBTA CapeFlyer Qualification/Test Train On Wednesday May 15th, 2019Photographed here is the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (i.e., MBTA) 1069 clearing the historic railroad station located in West Barnstable, Massachusetts on the Cape Main Line. The locomotive for this evening’s run was an Electro - Motive Division (i.e., EMD) F40PH-2C numbered 1069, which was built sometime during 1988. Trailing it are four MBTA Kawasaki CTC-4 control cars and one Pullman car. This particular train is set to begin its seventh summer of commuter rail service on Memorial Day Weekend between the Hyannis Railroad Depot in Hyannisport, Massachusetts and South Station in Boston, Massachusetts. MBTA Kawasaki CTC-4 control car 1702 was tied down onto the north end for the return trip home. Sorry for the shaky image as it is a still shot taken from a video set on my tripod. I did my best to touch it up some.
