Canadian National 6218 has cut away from its short deadhead consist to receive mechanical attention and have its coal and water topped up. The engine was on the way to New London to work a Brattleboro round trip excursion. The passenger equipment used, was moved separately as part of regular freight trains. The coaling tower had been long out of service.
