NA-1 604 by the River Road Bridge in Bow NHMEC 604 for NERAIL picture #604? Why not? Just makes sense. ;-)
This was a rather unusual "Local" on April 10, 2018 with this train being the combination of a small limestone train and the local with about 50 cars in all. 316 was left in Manchester with the local cars, the night before, and the NA-1 Crew brought up 604 with the limestone cars. This was also the first shipments of anything to the coal plant, since the last Coal Train arrived in Bow around Halloween 2016. I almost think that with all the recent coal that has been delivered to Bow, a loaded limestone train is in the mix somewhere for a future delivery.
This was 604's one and only time on "These New Hampshire Rails". Looks like this SD40-2 spent most of it's life south of the border in Mexico, prior to being sold to Pan Am in 2010 by Kansas City Southern. 604 has survived, being one of a few remaining 600 series to be in service. 604 does not dynamic brakes. GP40 #316 is the second engine.
This picture was taken off the River Road Bridge in Bow NH.
