Archive maintainer note: Paul Taylor reports that this was the last B unit used on the B&M. It's last years were spent as a middle unit on trains DOBO/BODO (nights) and the gravel train, DO-1 (days). Paul reports that it blew the engine one night while operating on DOBO/BODO sometime around the date of the photograph, which may explain the "wrecked" status.

Paul spent a lot of time with this engine between 1978 and 1980, working as the head end brakeman, fireman, and engineer on trains DOBO/BODO and some time on the gravel train as well." />

Note: This unit is listed as "wrecked"
on Ken Houghton's "All Time B+M Roster",
but it looks pretty fine here in 1980. ??
