A scene never to be repeated. Wolfeboro Railroad 2-6-2 #250 takes on water at Wolfeboro Falls before heading to Fernald. The excelsior plant located behind the locomotive was an occasional freight customer for the WRR.

The summer of 1956 I had an excellent logging chance in Quincy, NH, peeling poplar and cutting it into 4ft bolts for sale to that very excelsior plant shown above. Almost all the forest products industries have disappeared from the northern New England States today
