MEC 334 & 335 at Bucksport 1970I shot this picture on the fly from my bedroom window at 422 Main St., Bucksport. These guys & the RS2s #s 554, 555, & RS3s #s556, & 557 were every day sights in the 50s and 60s. I loved trains then as did my dad, AND we both were eager photographers but we just didn't take many train shots even thou the main line went right behind the house. In the resolution posted on here the numbers don't show up, but the lead unit is #334 followed by #335. Just behind them to the left around the bend is the Bucksport RR station. The Penobscot River and Verona Island are in the back ground. Each train, 1, 2 or 3 a day depending on traffic would break for lunch coast down from switching duties at the St.Regis Paper Mill and set somewhere along the water so the crew could get a bit to eat at one of the small shops on Bucksport's main st. /DL
