Airline Culvert

The New Haven's Airline Route from Cedar Hill to Willimantic was known for it's cut stone masonry structures, most of which still endure. This unusual eliptical arch concrete culvert is on the former airline at Chestnut Hill, south of Columbia Junction(Willimantic) CT. It is about 9 1/2 miles up the Ten Mile River. The date in the structure is 1913.
