Self-propelled in July 2000

Ordinarily a photo like this would not see the light of day, but it is significant because it was the first day "toasters" were operating under their own power back and forth between Southamption Street Yard, Boston, to South Station. Until this day, F-40s and other diesels were used as switchers. A yard crew is shoving No. 133 over to town for a 5:00 p.m. departure for D.C. It will get there at 12:45 a.m. The view is out the front door of South Bay Tower - a trailer.

Photographed by Leo King, July 13, 2000.
